The Mission of Taste of Greater Gainesville is to raise money and awareness for select nonprofit organizations in the Heart of Florida with a special emphasis on nonprofits that focus on children in need.

Taste of Greater Gainesville, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is proud to announce its tenth annual fundraising event on Sunday, June 14, 2020. The Taste of Greater Gainesville team is excited about this year’s turnout and are counting down the days until the event of the Summer. Taste of Greater Gainesville will feature signature dishes from North Central Florida’s best restaurants while giving back to four Gainesville children's charities: Tyler's Hope for a Dystonia Cure and PACE Center for Girls Alachua. Over the first eight years, we have been able to donate over $700,000 to local charities.

Tyler's Hope for a Dystonia Cure

Tyler's Hope is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to funding neurology research to prevent and cure DYT1 Dystonia; while creating awareness of this disorder. Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder characterized by involuntary muscle contractions, which force certain parts of the body into abnormal, sometimes painful, movements or postures. Dystonia can affect any part of the body including the arms and legs, trunk, neck, eyelids, face, or vocal cords.

PACE Center for Girls Alachua

PACE Alachua is dedicated to serving at-promise girls by helping them find their voice and providing tools to help them reach their full potential. Most girls come to us at a very critical time in their lives. A time when they are faced with challenging decisions and life circumstances that could shape the course of their future. We in turn provide our girls with the support and resources they need to position them for a better future through education, counseling, training, and advocacy.
